Bloomington Center for Connection is thrilled to announce our first annual Relational-Cultural Invitation: Bridging Differences.
Friday, August 10th, we welcome our keynote speaker, Maureen Walker. Maureen joins us from the Center for Relational Growth. Maureen’s work includes helping people bridge cultural differences such as race, religion, gender and other social status markers.
Maureen’s past talks have included Transforming Community through Disruptive Empathy, Getting to the Truth about Race, It’s Not About Checking a Box: Confronting the Claims of Post-racialism, and many other inspiring invitations to connecting more deeply and with more authenticity.
Following the keynote, Saturday we will host several panels inviting us to seek Relational-Cultural Theory in social justice practice. We will discuss generational differences in social justice work, activism and law enforcement, and educational topics, practicing Relational-Cultural theory while we bridge differences.
Please save the dates– Friday night and Saturday all day. Sunday activities and locations to be announced soon!
