Adam Leite is a psychotherapist-in-training doing his clinical internship with Bloomington Center for Connection. He is a candidate at the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute. His background includes training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis (both classical and contemporary approaches) and he is particularly excited to combine these approaches with the Relational-Cultural focus on interpersonal connection.
Adam comes to psychotherapy from a long career in academia. He received a PhD in Philosophy from Harvard University in 2000, and he has taught in the Indiana University Bloomington Philosophy Department for 20 years, where he is currently the Oscar R. Ewing Professor of Philosophy and the Philosophy Department’s Director of Undergraduate Studies. His philosophical research focuses on knowledge, self-knowledge, and interpersonal relationships. He sees philosophy and psychotherapy as complementary fields.
Adam has two grown children. He loves being outdoors, gardening, and making things with his hands.
