Lower-cost Therapeutic Services

Bloomington Center for Connection is committed to sharing Relational Cultural Theory with new therapists, and to creating accessible mental health care. Both of these goals are furthered through our therapist-in-training program. Therapists in their second year of counseling or social work graduate programs may apply to join the BCC staff as therapists-in-training, where they have access to RCT-informed supervision, ongoing learning groups, and community engagement programs. These therapists are able to offer low-cost therapy to the community while deepening their clinical skills.

Community members who choose to see a therapist-in-training get both the benefit of someone exposed to the newest training available as well as a seasoned supervisor assisting behind the scenes throughout the experience. For the 2024-2025 academic year, we have Sydney Hastings-Smith. They are able to offer mental health services on a sliding scale according to need. Please check appointment availability and select an intake with either one to learn more.
